T-shirt Making Madness

We have gone t-shirt making CRAZY here in the Bright house!  Here is our own little tuturial on how to make the easiest and coolest t-shirts EVER for the coming school year and beyond.

Materials:

  • 1 Cheap Walmart t-shirt (they have some right now for only $4.88 that are great).
  • 1 Spray Bottle with 1/3 Bleach and 2/3 Water mixture
  • 1 Roll of Renyolds Freezer Paper (Cost $5 at Walmart and its right beside the plastic wrap)
  • An Iron
  • Scissors
  • Computer for Graphics Printing
  • The Sun (though not necessary, makes the process go faster).

Step One:

Using a computer print out the simple shape or lettering in the size you would like on your shirt.  When printing lettering its easiest to make the font an outline so you don’t waste a ton of ink.  Font size for the t-shirts below range from 150 to 400 in size.

Step Two:

Trace the image or words you printed out onto the papery side of the freezer paper.  We found it easiest to tape the paper to the window and tape the freezer paper over it, creating a cheap light box.

Step Three:

Cut out words or design in Freezer paper.

Step Four:

Iron wax side down onto your t-shirt.

Step Five:

Place cardboard of some kind in between the layers of the t-shirt.  We used old school folders left over from last year.

Step Six:

Take Shirt out side and lay on the ground in the sun.

Step Seven:

Being careful of your own clothing LIGHTLY mist design with bleach mixture spray bottle.  A little bit will do you.  You can always go spray more if needed, but you can’t unbleach it once its bleached.

Step Eight:

Watch it dry and magically bleach!

Step Nine:

Once dry peel off the freezer paper to reveal your awesome design.

Step Ten:

Model your Awesome one of a kind t-shirt for all your friends so that they will be jealous of your awesomeness.
