Hello Kinsey and Tatie! (and everyone else :D)
Todd, Sydney and I set off this morning at 8am for our nation’s capital! We are on an annual trip with Todd’s company to visit with our congressmen here in Washington.
We were bright eyed and ready for adventure this morning.
It was an insanely long drive! 9 whole hours. We only stopped to gas up and rest stop. We saw a wind mill farm. A truck burst into flames on the side of the road, snow on the ground, an enormous outlet mall that we will be stopping at on our way home, A church that was in a Sunoco station – it still had the pumps and everything but the gas station wasn’t a gas station any more. We saw so many beautiful mountains and even stopped in a town called “Friendshipville” for gas.
By the time we got on the beltway we were REALLY ready to be out of the car. We got to see the Washington Monument on the drive in Tatie. 😀 Can you see it in the background?
Now we are all settled in our room and getting a good rest so that we will be ready for our trip to the Smithsonian tomorrow!
Here is the view from our room. We are looking down on FEMA (as does most of the world… haha) and across the street from the Department of Education.
Night loves.

Have so much fun! I remember that trip very well. But it sounds like you discovered things along the way. I can’t see the Washington monument on my screen…white meets light gray and Sydney’s sparkling smile. Can’t wait to hear all about your adventure!
Gah! Now I want Ice Cream! *stares at Syd’s ice cream* yummmmmmy.
Hope you guys are having a great time!!!
It looks you took enough suit cases to stay there a month. Make sure you find a resturant to eat in with local flare. Massive rain here I hope you do not get the snow.
syd looks like are having a great time …how are the old folks doin’?
miss you sooo much!!!
