A Post-Eighth Grader

The week before school ended Kinsey had a whole lot of fun adventures.  It was a non stop crazy train for two and a half weeks!  But we made it though and she had a blast in the process.

From a trip to St. Louis to sing in a choral competition (that they WON!).
.
.
.

To a trip to Washington DC!

Then an epic Civil War Day battle where they used flour as fire power and pitted the two 8th grade teams against each other. The result was very… messy.
.
.
.

And finally Kinsey was “promoted from the 8th grade in a very long and HOT ceremony last Tuesday.  We are so proud of her.  I can’t believe she is already a post-eighth grader!

You may be wandering why I am calling her a post-eighth grader.  I am afraid that sweet K is freaking out about the dreaded H word.  Thats right.  High School!  So we agreed that for the next two months we wouldn’t call her a high schooler, freshman, or a 9th grader.  For the rest of the summer she can just be a post-eighth grader.

And so here is out beautiful post eighth grader on her promotion day!

She was awarded three special awards.

  • All A’s! Ward
  • The “Low Maintenance” Award
  • And the “Diva” Award

I am not sure about those last two, they seem to be in contradiction to each other! After she won SOMS Idol her teacher teased her all the time about how it was going to go to her head and make her a Diva. So any time she missed school it was always, “Oh now that you are a Diva you don’t think you have to come to school.” and so on. She loved every bit of it. 😀
Congratulations Kinsey on having a relatively unscathed middle school career!  (Which is all anyone can hope for out of Middle School really.)

  1. Her smile is too genuine to be a jaded “diva”! Way to go Kinsey, our own Post-graduate…. proud of you is an understatement. Love.
