On Kinsey’s sleepover weekend with Grandma and Grandpa she wanted to make something again this year, like she did last year. The project she chose? CORN HOLE boards! Here is a note from Grandpa:
Kinsey and I made a corn hole game this weekend. She used the Radial arm saw, miter saw, table saw, nail gun and orbital sander without losing a finger or needing a bandage. It will take a few months of rain for the paint to wear off of the basketball court, not to mention the saw horses and tools, but that’s the way it goes with a budding artist. We had lots of fun , mostly beating her at the game, and who knows I might make one for us.
They did such an awesome job. Grandpa put a special spin on the design plans we got from the national Corn Hole website (yes, there is a NATIONAL Corn Hole website…who knew). So the boards fit together and lock in place complete with handle for easy storage. (Way to go Grandpa!) And I can’t say enough about the painting. I think we have the most awesome corn hole boards on our block! And there are a lot of corn hole boards on our block… 😀

Woo-Hoo! You should have seen Kinsey’s face though after I finished making the bags and naming them…Gryffindor and Slytherin! She was like…”but I wanted happy faces…” Go figure…. The colors were what I had in my cupboard, so that’s what she got. What I got was 49 pounds of whole corn for the mice to eat this winter.
Very cool! I like the painting and think it is great how it hooks together.
