We had a lovely Easter Weekend, and I hope you did too. For the first time in at least 5 years we had beautiful weather. On Friday we got a yummysurprise in the mail from Aunt Heather. She never forgets a holiday! We think she is AWESOME! Then we spent Saturday at Todd’s family’s house and the kids had a grand time driving and riding in the four wheeler with Jerry Allen watching over them. Then we played Corn Hole (Dad I think Kinsey has an idea of what she wants to do on her sleep over this summer *wink*). The kids had an Easter Egg hunt and we ate some incredible barbecued turkey and Pork (courtesy of Chef Jerry Allen). Todd played a little ball while the kids ran around and everyone but me got sunburned.
I saved Easter by finding chocolate bunnies at 9:30 pm last night after going to no less than 5 stores! Meijer, Target, and Kroger all had ZERO Easter candy left, while others were just down peeps. But Walgreen’s saved the day (remind me next year to go there first). I set the alarm for 6am so that we would have enough time for our Easter Bunny visit and get ready for church. Apparently 6am was too early because I had to drag Todd and Kinsey out of bed and they went back to bed as soon as the baskets were found.
Everyone got to church on time looking beautiful as you can see below. And I played piano for the special musical number with a friend of ours at church. I only messed up twice! And no one was any the wiser. By the end of the song my hands were shaking so bad that I didn’t think I would make it through, but I did! YEAH! Todd said I did great, but was quick to add that after 5 years of hearing me play this song and ONLY this song, he hoped that he would finally be hearing something new around the house. 😐 He thinks he is very funny some days… LOL Easter is one of my favorite days for church, there is something about seeing everyone dressed in their pretty spring dresses and suits that makes me happy.
