Honors and Smarts

Kinsey came home last week with her second trimester report card sporting all “A’s”.  The school puts on a program called “Goal Getters” after every reporting period.  Kids who have had outstanding achievement during the last trimester receive awards.  Kinsey was the proud recipient of no less than 5 awards today!  We couldn’t be more proud!  She received a $10 gift card to the Summit for achieving all “A’s” as well as the following:

Science: Highest Effort

Pre-Algebra: Citizenship

Social Studies: Highest grade Average

English: Highest Grade Adverage

Choir: Outstanding Musician

YEAH FOR KINSEY!!!!

Sydney was home sick from school today…poor Sydney.  She is sick with a nasty cold/flu bug.  This means she is totally hopped up on NyQuil which can produce the most amusing conversations at times.  Like the one we had this afternoon, which went like this:

Mom:  “Its family home evening night tonight!”

Sydney: “Yeah, what movie are we going to watch?”

Mom: “The Ten Commandments.  MOSES!!!!”

Sydney: “How long is that?”

Mom: “Like 3 hours.”

Sydney: “Are we going to be allowed to watch ALL of it???”

Mom: “No, I guess not.”

Sydney: “So, only the first commandment then?”

HAHAHAHA!!!  I just love her!  She gets a bad wrap around the house for not being the funniest child, but there are days when she absolutely slays me!

And don’t you just love these awesome little avies of the girls!  My bestie Christina made them for my blogging enjoyment.  She rocks potato chips!

So sad that Sydney has been sick. I hope it is all over soon. We’ve had sickness in the house for 3 weeks now and it is really getting old!
