Sydney’s birthday has past and we all know what that means! Its Christmas tree time! Unlike my wonderful would-be-twin in Norway who waits to put up her tree until Christmas eve. At our house we put up the tree the week after Sydney’s birthday and take it down just before Kinsey’s. This way no one ever feels like they are getting gypped on their birthday. (This was a vow my bishop old bishop made me agree to when he found out I was due so close to Christmas – apparently he has issues with his therapist/parents/and the adjacent holiday to his birthday he still needs to work out.)
As per our usual routine Todd was not to be found on tree assembly day. he was at school this year, but in years past the excuses have ranged form “I’m not feeling well” to a sudden need to work late. *gives Todd suspicious eye…* We shall see if tradition hold this year and he gets ill when its time to take the tree down as well. The girls and I worked hard and were able to get the tree up in all her glory in just a few hours while watching Rudolf – our annual traditional entertainment for the Christmas tree decorating evening.
All in all a very successful event ending with Tatie planting our Star on the highest bough. Merry Christmas everyone! Send me links to your christmas trees! I would love to see all your beautiful decorations!

P.S. Yes those are LED lights on my tree! We are GOING GREEN BABY!

Me being missing from undecorating is now an official Bright family holiday tradition. We don’t want to screw with tradition now do we?
I always have a Christmas Tree on my birthday and I think it is wonderful! You have a pretty tree. Ours has twenty ornaments on one branch and none on the other. Emily likes it this way!
‘Tis the season to be jolly, not full of folly, Todd…you should join the fun and make beautiful memories too. By the way, the Bright girls have: Decked the Halls with boughs of holly very very well, indeed… Merry Christmas, Family!!!! (Ours is not yet up…)
Wonderful Tree!!!!!!! Have Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!
*Whoops at being referred to in your blog!*
Now Nicole, it’s the day BEFORE Christmas Eve, Little Christmas Eve! 😛 But yeah, it’s sort of late compared to Americans. And don’t laugh, but your trees are so different from ours! It’s sort of weird referring to Christmas trees as “so American”, but.. they are. Heh. 🙂 It’s a beautiful tree!
