I just wanted to let everyone know that we survived the wind storm. With gusts of 81 miles and hour the damage around here is substantial. But we were very blessed. Unlike most neighborhoods in our area we still have power. School was called for today and tomorrow (so the kids are happy). But we spent the day fall cleaning (so they weren’t that happy).
Currently we are without phone service, so if you have called and we haven’t answered you know why. I have internet service most of the time, feel free to email if you need to get in touch with us.
I hope everyone else weathered the storm well.
Stay Safe,
Nicole

I had no idea that you were having trouble with the weather back there. See that’s what happens when one doesn’t have tv or the newspaper. I always forget that I can get news on the internet. I’m glad to know that you guys are fine. How wide spread was the storm?
Yes, you guys are blessed. We are still playing “pioneer days” at my house for the 3rd day. All is well, considering. We are healthy, we are relatively prepared, no major damage, and we are safe. And I have internet while at work, so that gives me sanity for 6 hrs a day! lol Silver lining, our LG&E bill will be 25% cheaper this month due to a week of no electricity?? Maybe we should cut the power on purpose as part of a savings plan a couple times a year! lol
No phone! I thought cell phones were always o.k. If you would like the girls to have a sleepover I am always open to that.
Great Grandma and Grandpa also weathered the storm well…Twenty eight hours without phone and electricity… NO TV! Grandma says they had a wonderful conversation and are now all talked out!
You have to wade through the hickory nuts to get to our house! But other than that, we are fine. That and the dead deer are finally disposed of..thank goodness…STINK!!!
We are calm and cool in UT…no wind. Glad everyone is ok there.
Oh my, I had no idea you guys were gonna get a taste of Ike as well! 81 mph sounds pretty scary. I am so glad to hear you all are alright!
