Labor Day Weekend Fun

We had a wonderful Labor Day holiday weekend.  We went camping for 4 days at Deam Lake in Indiana.  The girls had never swam in a lake before and were not thrilled with the prospect of swimming with the fishes!  But as soon as they got on to that beach we couldn’t keep them out of the water.  They built sand castles, collected fresh water muscles, swam, floated, and fished.  We were even chased off someones property when I was trying to take a picture of a hysterical billboard on the way to the campsite! The only injury to report for the weekend was an unfortunate incident involving Todd and his brand new glow in the dark hot dog roasting stick.  He will be alright right, just a few blisters to remember the weekend by.  We also learned how to use a dutch oven and made our dinners that way.  The first night we had enough food to feed an army.  It was delicious and I can’t wait for Todd to cook something up for us again.  The girls favorite part of the weekend by far was an evening we spent in a quiet meadow.  With no moon the stars were bright a beautiful.  The girls decorated themselves with glow sticks and danced for hours in dark.  It was magic…a precious memory that will last a life time.

We ended the holiday with a trip to Grandma and Grandpa’s where we BBQ-ed and got a surprise visit from Great Grandma and Grandpa!

  1. Wow! i don’t know how you came up with that whole thing, the music, mixture of video and still shots, the titles etc. That was amazing! I guess I need you to teach me some things! Definitely looks like a wonderful family vacation. Your girls look exactly the same, just more grown up. Beautiful girls, just like i’d figure they’d be!

  2. Ruth Anne and Jim was excited that Todd invited them to be there at the lake. They had a wonderful time with the girls. It is easy to see that those girls are the highlights of their lives. Glad everyone had a good time.
