Paging Doctor Bright

This entry for some reason got saved and not published. So I thought I would re post it now. This happened December 13 & 14 of 2007. *warning the following contains discriptions of a gross nature*

Todd was sick on Thursday while he was driving back to his office from a business meeting.  Unfortunatly Todd had a busness meeting in Columbus Ohio the next day.  He had to drive up that evening.  (A 3.5 hour drive at night)  I was very worried that he would fall asleep at the wheel because he was unable to rest.  So I decided to drive him up myself.

Gram came over to sit with the girls and we were off.  It was an uneventful trip.  Todd slept much of the way while I listened to music and downed rediculous amounts of Coke to keep me awake.  We arrived at the Double Tree Hotel in downtown Columbus at 10:30 pm ready to crash for the night.  (If you havn’t ever stayed at a Double Tree I highly recommend it.  The Warm cookies are to die for!)  All was well, right up until 6:30 am when my phone started ringing.  Lets break it down for you here.

 Kinsey called:

~ The power was out in all three bedrooms, but not in the rest of the house.

~ Because of the no power, They all got up late which meant that Kinsey didn’t have time for a shower.

~ Tatie wouldn’t get out of the bathroom.

~Upon futher investigation Tatie was feeling nauseous.

~ Grams phone was about to die and she forgot her charger.

Mom now swings into action from over 300 miles away!

~ Don’t worry about the lights, its probably a fuse.  I’ll fix it when I get home.

~ Put your hair in a pony tail, you can shower tonight.

~ Give the phone to Gram.

~ Does Tatie have a fever.

~Gram: No

~ She sounds tired, its probably that and the drainage.

~Gram begins to coax Tatie out of the bathroom by telling her how cute she looks.  It works and Tatie is now happy to go to school…Score one for Grams team!

*One Hour Later*

Phone Rings again: Mrs. Bright, This is K******* Elementry School.  We have Tatie in the office, she just threw up in the classroom.  *crap*

Me: Did she throw up or just gag on mucus?

School: According to her teacher she threw up mucus.

I asked to talk to her and she said that she felt fine, she just gaged on the mucus.  I was then returned to the office person where she said, “She has a temp of 99.” (Which honestly doesn’t say alot, but they obviously wanted her to go home.)  “We’ll be right there.” I replied.  By we I mean Gram considering that I was still in columbus and currently in my PJs.  I called Gram whos phone was dead!!!  Todd and I spent the next 20 mins calling as many poeple as we could think of (which wasn’t many) Until we finally found someone home and willing to drive to our home and tell Gram to pick up Tatie.  20 mins later Gram had been notified and very soon there after Tatie had been picked up.  Crisis solved.

I spent the rest of the day at a fabulous outlet mall just south of Columbus, and then picked Todd up from his meeting at 2:30.  A whole half hour early!  This was great news!  With traffic on our side we would be able to make it back in time to see Sydney’s winter choir concert!  I refused to stop for anyting…no bathroom breaks, no food stops.  I even gassed up before picking up Todd so that I wouldn’t have to stop later.  And we made it, with 20 mins to spare.

Sydney’s concert was lovely.  She sang so beautifully.
