Chill’ in the Rockies

Dad woke up bright and early this morning to go with Tom and a few others on a 3 mile hike up the canyon.  He was up and out the door before dawn.  I woke up just in time to say be careful and then he was gone.  I spent the morning getting ready and ironing Dad’s shirts.  Then around 9 am he came back and had a little hot apple cider (Dad’s new addiction) and filled me in on his morning adventure while we sipped our drinks on the patio.

Dad left for his first morning metting and I was greeted by the appreaence of a Mom, Dad, and baby deer right out side my door!  I was beautiful.  I grabbed my camera in time to catch a picture of the mom.  And then was shocked to see the neighbors in the cabin next door come flying out onto their patio with camera in hand…only wearing his BOXERS!  He missed the deer, but flashed the entire neighborhood.

After that I walked down the canyon to base and sat on a bench by the creek and read for a while.  It was a lovely morning.  The sky was completely blue except for one lone rain cloud hanging right over the mountain peak.  They say its even going to snow on the moutain tomorrow.  I had a sandwich for lunch and walked back to the room and snuggled into bed for a lovely afternoon nap.  Dad arrived an hour later and we were off again to go up the ski lift (my third time this week).  It was lovely and we took a few more pictures.  We stopped after to get some more apple cider and now we are back in the room and Dad is napping before Aunt Julie, Uncle Eric, Aunt Heather, and Uncle Adam arrive.  We will be spending the evening here with them.  They will be bringing over a movie and some treats.  It should be very fun.

We leave in the morning for Salt Lake City at 4:30 AM!!!  Dad is hoping to get into the 6am temple session.  After that its off to Aunt Julie and Uncle Eric’s house.  We sure miss you guys.  And I hear you are being very good girls.  I adore you.  Sleep well.

Love you Always,

Mom
