At long last I give you a story about me, yours truly, Nicole W Bright. Ironically it’s more about Todd than me, as you will soon see.
As some of you know I am completely addicted to my iPod. I named it George and it holds all the things that keep me sane. Like my cleaning the house music play list, my exercise play list, and most importantly my anger management play list. Unfortunately a little over a month ago Todd decided to take my iPod for a walk. After its return it began malfunctioning. Although Todd claims to have not done anything to George, he was the last to be in possession of him before his untimely demise.
No matter what I tried, rebooting, restoring, reloading, nothing worked. It was dieing. I was so sad. We went to Sam’s soon after and I saw that they had a 30g Video iPod for $230! I hugged the cardboard cut out with sad eyes…but Todd wasn’t going for it. I continued to fumble with my iPod with little success. It would occasionally play, if it was in a good mood. But it wasn’t very often.
Then last week Kinsey was admitted to the hospital. Todd came that night, to the hospital, with a bag of clothes for me. He plopped the bag on the bed and said look and make sure I get everything you needed. Then he wandered over to love on Kinsey who was still very much out of it at the time. I began looking though the bag…Jeans check…book check…I unzipped the toiletries bag…toothpaste check…BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW VIDEO iPOD CHECK!!!!! I nearly tackled him.
To which he replied, “Gifts is your love langue.”
As if that’s a bad thing or something! It’s not my fault, if you buy me something I melt like butter. He went on to say that he went to Sam’s to buy the girls sleeping bags for our up coming camping trip and saw the cardboard cut out of the iPod. He had been planning on getting it for me for my birthday, but decided I could really use to help get me through the night. And boy was he right. That was Kinsey’s worst night; I was up the entire night.
Did I mention that he had loaded my entire playlist on it too? Don’t I have the best husband ever!!!!

Now Todd has a companion so my girl can exercise without it being in her ear…has the alien received a name yet? I’m so glad my girl has a husband who understands the “langue of gifts”! Sometimes we just need a pick me up and tell me that you thought of me in a very special thoughtful way. Way to go , Todd!
Actually, I didn’t notice that the site has me as Grandma for everyone, so I’m stating here and now that I’m proudly Nicole’s mom not her Grandma. 🙂
Loved your stories. Many of your answers to the quiz could be mine also. Your fourth sounded like fun. We spent a quiet day getting a few things done around the house, going to see License to Wed and we ate at OCharlies…Holly’s request because of the potato soup. Read Todd’s article on the Slob mentality and the work place…good job. Totally enjoyed it and I walked down memory lane knowing I could testify that every word was true…great change…and Todd looks great!!! Love…
