We were so blessed recently to come across a news bulletin from the National Eczema Association praising the new photographic essay entitled Images of Isolation. It is a snapshot into the lives of men, women, and children who suffer from debilitating eczema. I was so excited to learn that the NEA was offering the book free. I ordered it that day. I cannot begin to describe the impact this book has made on Tatie’s life. For the first time in her life she realized she is not alone in her fight. There are others who suffer with the same pain and humiliation that she does.
From the moment the book arrived she read it night and day. We went to the website to read the more in-depth stories. She took it to school and showed her teacher, who worries about her constantly. She read it to her Girl Scout troop. It has changed her whole perspective on her condition. Please go and look through the bios of those pictured. Tatie’s favorites are the dancer for New York City and Jasmine. Jasmine experiences the same things at school that Tatie does. It breaks my heart. She is such a strong amazing girl, I am grateful we had the opportunity to get this book.
We also got the amazing news that they hold a National Eczema Conference every year. Which includes a day camp for children suffering from eczema. We really hope that we will be able to go next year.

Tatie is strong and full of love. Way to keep the faith!
Tatie, Love, I’m so happy for you that you realized you are not alone. You are an amazing, beautiful girl and I am very proud of you. Please know in your heart that you are never alone and that if people are ignorant of something , we can always educate them so that they remain no longer in their stupidity. We are being of service to the world that way. 🙂
Tatie,
I remember the day you and I read your book. I felt so special whenyou shared how they had experienced many of the feelings you had. I saw you come alive. I am glad we also agreed that you and papa will touch and hug as often we like. Would you please read me the book the next time I visit? You take care. Remember, Papa loves you.
