Football and the Opera

What do these things have in common?  I went to both this week!  Pretty awesome right?

Todd had to go to the UK game last Saturday so I tagged along. It was alot of fun…COLD but definitely fun.  We had dinner before the game at the Agriculture Roundup  event.  I can not even tell you how good the food was, it was that good.  And so much of it too!  Makes me hungry just thinking about all the brisket they piled on our plates.  If this is how Todd’s new job always caters events then bring them on!   We had great seats…though the stadium has only bleachers which is a total bummer on a cold behind let me tell you!  And as an added surprise Holly and her fiancée Seth were at the game too.  We had a fabulous time and snagged some pompoms for the kids which they loved.

Our friend Tom who serves on the opera board was so sweet to get the us tickets to the opera this week.  Kinsey has been to an opera before (she goes with the choir at school every year) but Sydney and Tatie had never been.  They loved it.  Though they thought it was sad.  Which it was.  We saw “Of Mice and Men”.  I absolutely cracked up though when the conductor of the orchestra walked out and the orchestra began to tune their instruments Tatie leaned over to me and said…

“Mom, that is just what it sounds like in the movies!  They are really good at it!”

Priceless.

  1. I have something in common then…killed a mouse in the house last night! Not quite as great as going to the opera, but you do what you gotta do. Glad everyone had a cultural extravaganza of a week! Love.
