I think Halloween gets longer and longer every year. Not that I mind. I do love a good holiday! This week Tatie had red ribbon week at school (that’s D.A.R.E. week to us 80’s children). And on Tuesday they asked the kids to dress up as what they wanted to be when they grew up. Tatie wants to be a doctor. Obviously we don’t have a white coat lying around here being that neither Todd nor I are doctors. So I suggested she use a white shirt as a substitute. You can guess how that went over… Thankfully our home teacher came to the rescue (Brother Bednar is an Orthodontist) and let Tatie borrow and old lab coat. It went all the way to her ankles but with Kinsey Stethoscope (a souvenir from her time in the hospital) she was a picture perfect doctor!
Tuesday we got around to carving the pumpkins. They turned out fabulous. It was the first time since we moved to Oldham county that the kids got to have their own pumpkin again. (Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE having a house of my own!!!!) The pumpkins turned out fabulous! The kids drew the designs on themselves and I helped out with the carving so we didn’t loose any fingers. Tatie’s is a spider, Kinsey’s is the Cookie Monster, and Sydney’s is a masquerade ball mask.
Today at the middle school they kids had the opportunity to dress up as well. Sydney’s Halloween costume was going to be a bit to grand for a school day (you will see Sunday when I post about it) so she raided her closet and threw together a military outfit complete with camo pants, grey shirt, combat boots, and camo hat. The dog tags she is wearing actually said “I <3 Jacob Black”. hahahaha
Tomorrow morning bright and early we run in the State Cross Country meet. Wish the girls luck!
