School is off to a great start this year! The girls love their teachers and are doing well in their classes. Cross Country season is also off to a great start. Kinsey had her first meet last weekend and did well (beat her PR – personal record – in the 3K by more than a minute!) especially considering she was getting over a stomach virus from just a day before! We have a meet on Friday night and on Saturday morning. So wish the girls luck!
Sydney is recovering wonderfully. She attended her first CC practice today (after being out since the week before school started) which was the Run-a-thon fundraiser. After walking the first lap she came around the second lap RUNNING! I was so happy! She ended up running 2 miles today! That is the first time she has run since she tore both of her hamstrings 4 weeks ago! We are so proud of her!
I have been neglectful of my blogging this last month with all the illness and getting back into our routines for school. So here are a pictures to catch you up!
Magnolia Place Capture the Flag:
The week before school started the neighborhood gathered together at 7pm every night to play capture the flag! on this particular night the younger kids ended up all on the same team and to even out the odds they went to recruit their dads. So Todd ended up out there with them…and they won! The teams were made of of around 15 kids each and whoever’s Dad could be talked into playing – and paying for it the next day in soreness. 😀 It was one of our best memories of the summer.
Torn Hamstrings:
This is Sydney just an hour after tearing her hamstrings during a capture the flag game after straining them at CC practice she just couldn’t turn down a game and payed for it with 4 weeks of rehab!
Kinsey’s Sleepover:
Sewing headbands with her buddy Maggie.
Kinsey with her new bike she got on her sleepover weekend with us.
Graffiti:
Found this one morning after breakfast. I just had to laugh!
80’s Strike back:
K and her friends cut and tied their CC shirts…look familiar? Cause I swear that is sooooo 1985.
Moooooo:
We saw this monster of a cow one night driving around Crestwood! Have you ever seen anything like it! What kind of cow is as big as a garage??? O_o
Kinsey first CC meet of the season:
We are having Labor Day Spectacular Spectacular this weekend! I will tell you all about it on Monday! Have an awesome holiday!

I like the graffiti.
Soooo good to be back to the grind. Can’t wait until they run in our part of the state. By the way that is a Texas Long Horn Steer, albeit a long way from home. What a great neighborhood, i hope it always stays that way.
