Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet!

I hope every one had a happy safe Halloween night.  We sure did.  After the girls got all prettied up for the evening we were off for our very first ever REAL trick or treat evening.  After years of just going to the mall in Louisville to get our fill of candy we went to an actual neighborhood to beg for goodies.

The weather cooperated perfectly and we headed off to a lovely neighborhood down the road where we ran from door to door (well the girls ran, I drove slowly behind them :-D).  After about an hour and a half of this the girls were begging to go home!  Where is the Halloween spirit?  They dragged themselves to the last two houses on the street and collapsed into the car exhausted.  Todd had stayed behind to hand out the 180 M&M’s I bought.  We thought for sure that we would be swarmed with candy hungry ankle biters…but we had only the family next door drop by.  So Now I am stuck with not only what we bought to give out, but what the girls brought home.  Which all amounts to 7- gallon size bags of candy.  And we’re not talking about the bad stuff either…its all chocolately goodness!

Also this week Sydney had the opportunity to run for Class Council.  She was nominated along with 7 other kids to run.  Friday she gave a wonderful campaign speech which earned her a round of applause after which she handed out highlighters with a tag that said “Vote Right, Vote Bright!”  The voting is on Monday, but if the response she received to her speech is any indication, she will be winning her spot on the council with ease.

  1. Sounds like you have enough candy to last past Easter! You guys look great but can’t believe you tired out so quickly.

    Love,
    Aunt Heather

  2. Wow!!! Love the M & M’s! Christmas is coming and that will add to the marvelously (M&M’s) merry atmosphere…. So the princess became lanquid, the devil become sluggish and the witch wished for her flying broom… thank goodness for Mom’s chariot of kindness to scoop up all wayfaring adventurers. You did indeed look wonderful. OUr internet provider is having tower troubles. Nicole call the momma. I left a message on your voice mail and even called Kinsey and left a message for her to tell you to call the Momma, who is missing her daughter’s dulcent tones.

By the way, Sydney…you came up with a wonderful campaign slogan…YOU GO GIRL!!! Win or loose you are a winner because you tried and did your best! Love, Grandma
