After a rough start to our Halloween fun, (the Volvo keys got locked in the car!) Pop-a-lock came to the rescue and I sent Todd and the girls to the fruit market up the street to pick out a pumpkin.  I sent them with the instructions to “Bring home a biggin’!”  And off they went.  Our usual Halloween tradition includes a long visit to a neighborhood pumpkin patch where the girls each get a pumpkin of their own.  But with all the bad weather and the locking of the keys in the car…time was of the essence.  So one pumpkin was all we had time for. 

I sent them with $40, and an order for McDonald’s (which just opened!!!  Its so stupid to be this excited about having a McDonald’s in town, but that’s the country for ya!).  They returned with food and a boulder!  No wait…that’s a PUMKIN!  HOLY COW!  And the first words out of the kids mouths…Mom, it was only $10!   I tell you, in Louisville that thing would have easily cost $40.  Here’s to country living!  It was a great pumpkin.  And who knew inside big pumpkins the seeds are already begining to sprout?  That was weird.  But you learn something new every day. 

Tomorrow we are off to trick or treat in our new town.  (I am hoping Crestwood candy is better then Louisville candy! Something tells me I will be right!)
