You have these lists of things you want to do before you move. Painting, cleaning, appliance purchases. What no one tells you before you move is that the list GROWS exponentially every time you enter your new home!
So far we have…
Painted All the bedrooms (And only one of which was botched and needs another coat).
Hired speedy painters to paint the living room and mock my spackling technique. (The mocking was free.)
Put a first coat on the kitchen. Which is stinking BEAUTIFUL I might add!
Installed new locks (Which all fit except for one. Murphy’s Law.)
Had the carpets professionally cleaned which was totally worth it. (What wasn’t worth it was giving into their sales pressure and having them “seal” the entry way grout…a $40 purchase which consisted of a guy – a squeeze bottle – and 5 minutes. Todd wasn’t too happy I did that one. I plead shear exhaustion! My faculties were compromised! No one should be left alone with salesmen in my mental state!)
Picked up my new space aged dyer! (I want to go to there…)
Discovered Todd needs a root canal. (Bonus he got good drugs! Which is opportune considering the extreme soreness we are suffering! )
And a really great family from church came over and pressure wash our garage floor and rid it of pet hair! YEAH!
Still to go, the final coat in the kitchen, painting the den, repainting the master bedroom, buying a refrigerator, having the oven repaired, repair holes from previous dish installation, figure out why the gas isn’t coming on, Bright Pest control arrives to rid us of our ant problem tomorrow, buy a new washer, clean, and MOVE! Not too much really… O_o

The good news: You’re about half way through that list so keep it up Girl!!
Don’t worry. Things will settle down in about two weeks once you’re all moved in and everything gets put away. Then you will be able to sit back on your own couch, in your own living room, and just relax and bask in the silence that your brand new home will allow. 😀
Wish I was there to help! I would even plant some pretty flowers in your front yard for you, since the plant nation as a whole has requested that you never touch another plant as long as you shall live. It would be safer for everyone involved. 😀
It’s actually a very short list…Not bad at all! You (family and friends) have been amazing. You are right, don’t be alone with a salesman in your fatigue, you could have got the stuff from Lowe’s and done it yourself, but on the other hand, now it’s something you won’t have to deal with and that’s priceless…
I’m catching up on your daily entries and laughing my butt off at all that’s been going on, but so proud at all you guys have pulled off in such a short amt of time! Happy to hear that you hired out the painting in the living room, cause I know I couldn’t have done high wall & ceiling painting. I just sealed new tile (you should really seal the tile as well unless it’s tumbled) and grout and have a partial bottle left over (doesn’t take much and the good stuff is expensive!! Okay, but don’t let Todd read this and be more angry with your collapse of good judgement. lol) Your list that’s left really IS short. I’m still trying to make a day work out that I can come over after work…
WE want pictures!!!!!
