What We’ve Been Up to…

We are closing in fast on Spring Break, its just two weeks away!  After the snow, ice, and cold of this winter we are looking forward to some fun in the sun.

Two weeks ago Tatie’s class celebrated  Black History month by putting on a play for all their parents entitled “Follow the Drinking Gourd”.  Tatie was cast as Molly a slave girl whose sister was being sold at market.  She and her family took to the underground railroad and “Followed the Drinking Gourd”.

Molly (Tatie) hiding from slave hunters and Singing with the other “Slaves” after they escape.

Sydney and Tatie both got in the mood last month to be creative in the kitchen (translation: make a BIG mess for mom to clean up.)  They found some old wheat flower in the cupboard and it inspired Sydney to sculpt.  And what was her inspiration????

A Foot.

We learned soon their after why you need to put things like this in the oven for fast drying… Her foot contracted gangrene. O_o

It molded within a few days!

  1. Okay, sssooo used to moving pictures…Tatie was Molly….Molly who and what did she do? I’m confused… However, the foot could have been saved if after baking you varnished it so no air got through. Next time you’ll have a great paper weight.
