Young Women in Excellence

Kinsey attended her very first Young Women in Excellence program this last Tuesday night.  It was a wonderful occasion to the theme of “Born to be a Queen”.  The girls made crests that signified the most important things in their lives along with their personal motto’s and symbols of their personality traits (Kinsey’s is the blue one sporting the BYU emblem). They were even coronated by the first counselor, Brother Thies.  It couldn’t have been any more wonderful then it was.  Though Todd complained that it was “too dark” – clearly he didn’t get the ambiance!

This was the first YW in Excellence program I had attended since I was a Miamaid and experienced what will go down in eternal history as the most disastrous Young Women’s program ever held.  But watching my smiling daughter sitting with her friends and listening to her leaders dote on her accomplishments filled me with not only pride, but gratitude for being able to be apart of such a wonderful Young Women’s program.
