I’m proud of you

When you are a parent, there are so many times you wonder, “Am I doing a good job?”

Today, for just a moment, I think I am.

We just got home from Tatie’s Choir concert.  Tatie was walking out of the kitchen with her bowl of celebratory ice cream headed off to watch a movie on my iPad.  When I say, as I have many times, “I’m proud of you Tatie.”

Now there are many reactions she could have had, to just ignore it and walk on (as happens some times) or  to say “Thanks Mom”.

But she turned to me with a smile and said simply, “I know.” and walked off to eat her ice cream.

I figure I may be doing something right, if she knows I am proud of her.

  1. All your girls walk in confidence and with a grounded sense of the world. They look you in the eye, they express themselves articulately without being arrogant. They are gracious in the limelight and supportive of others when they are in the limelight. They know they are daughters of God and they comport themselves as one. Yes, you are a fabulous Mother in Zion and an Elect Lady. You are doing a wonderful work and a glory….

  2. Just reading this now, two months late! But oh Cocoa, that story says it all. Doing something SO right. Congratulations and New Years greetings to you and your girls!
